One moment he was on the ground, the next he was swaying next to Loki, reaching out to hold his partner's shoulder in order to re-steady himself. Stephen didn't need the Time Stone but he really wished he had it about now. It would make this particular situation a little easier to handle.
By now, Strange had gathered that something was off here. Other than the obvious, of course. Loki and Kaecilius didn't know each other back in his reality. Not to mention, Loki was dead and Kaecilius was off floating around in an abyss. Or whatever one did in the dark dimension. This version of New York must have had some sort of video game rationale, with things appearing purely for the sake of antagonizing them. And that was annoying.
"It's good to see you again, Mister Doctor."
..and so was that.
"It's Doctor Str- -- you know what, never mind." Stephen irritably rubbed his face, accidentally smudging the dirt on his cheek from being face-down on the sidewalk. He then did what he should have done five minutes ago instead of awkwardly watching Loki and Kaecilius make their way through the sling ring portal. He summoned a spell, freezing them both solid in ice. Killing them was probably preferable. But Stephen was still anti-death at heart, if he could help it.
Stephen smiled at his fiancé, gesturing towards the other Loki. "What do you think of my-reality you? Other than, you know. Less attractive."
