There was a no on the tip of his tongue over the question about the painting, but Stephen paused before it managed to surface. Over the past few months, the hotel had made him something of a pessimist. Part of Stephen's job description was to 'protect his realm at all costs' and while he was living at the Crown Plaza, he supposed he would protect that too.
But currently, the realm did not need protecting (that he could tell). And thus far, nothing the guests did could impact reality outside the hotel's reach. Even in situations like this, when they were in a seemingly real city. Like every other situation they had ever been in, it would blow over in a matter of days and wouldn't leave the slightest ripple upon time or space.
So why not let Loki steal a painting from maybe-not-real New York?
"Why not both? Do a little investigating and pick up something nice for the room?" Though maybe, even if this was some fake world created by the hotel, Stephen should be taking it a little more seriously. "Got any theories? The city looks in tact, for the most part. No destruction, no bodies. You don't think it's something Thanos-related, do you?"
