It was only that Diana felt so guilty, and foolish. She was an adult, fully grown and well trained, and she had been one day intended to lead the Amazons. It was a marked difference in herself and Thor, because he had been meant to be a King, and Diana was not meant to rule. That had shown itself again today, when Diana had led them into danger with absolutely no heed of any kind, and Thor had been injured. She had been injured, too, but she cared far less about that.
“Me, too,” she said softly, but with a nod. If she had known there would be this much danger, she simply would have stayed behind. Diana was not one to pick a fight just for the sake of picking one, not when there were real consequences and danger.
Diana knew they had not turned the wrong direction or gone the wrong way, and yet she was seeing the same buildings and streets over and over again. “I know.” And she did. She simply hadn’t said anything as her dark eyebrows had drawn closer and closer together. “I don’t think it wants us going back.”
And that frightened her, inasmuch as Diana could be frightened, because if the hotel didn’t want them going back, what was it wanting them here for? Diana didn’t think she could take another blast like that, and it was not safe for them here if she couldn’t. There was a seeming apartment building nearby, and Diana gestured to it with her free hand, the one that wasn’t wrapped around his waist. She had given up holding his hand for this, but it was much for her as for him.
