She was glad she’d taken the time for a hug. He was such a large man, both physically and in emotional presence, and it was easy to forget that things affected him, just as they did anyone. He was strong, in many ways, but she had felt his trembling when she’d wrapped her arms around him, and her heart hurt for him. Still, it had not been enough to keep her on her feet, and so Diana relaxed against the seat she’d taken as Thor went exploring.
Diana nodded, aware that that was exactly the problem, and he’d tried to tell her that before she’d wandered right into a fight. A fight that had left Thor shaking, she’d point out, and herself not much better off. He was back with water before she had much time to really think about it, and she took a bottle and drank from it gratefully. “Thank you,” she said softly, and she took a second sip as well.
She realized her hair tie was still wrapped around her wrist, and used it to tie her hair back in a ponytail. Would that she had done that before half her hair had been dipped in Jotun blood. “You named two of them, but who were the big ones?” She had not been given names for them, and it hardly mattered now that they were dead and ash, but Diana was curious.
