"I don't know where we are." Thor gave Diana a thoughtful, cautious look as he tried to process where that sound had come from. "But it's certainly meant to look like New York, at least. What in the nine realms happened here?"
He didn't have much time to process that question, though, as the sound of the shrieking heard previously drew ever closer. A shadow loomed on the horizon and Thor dropped Stormbreaker from his back, into his hands, prepared to strike. The shadow grew bigger every second until it passed directly overhead and Thor thought he saw scales, green and white, and wings nearly 50 meters across, if he had to guess. He knew enough to recognize a dragon when he saw one, and tensed, preparing to strike, but it just kept flying, passing them right on by as if it hadn't seen them. It headed in the same direction they were going, but much faster, and disappeared just as quickly as it came, holding some formless, wriggling thing in its hind claws.
"I think we found the source of that sound, but... There aren't supposed to be dragons in New York, Diana. Something terrible may have happened."
Another convergence, maybe? Without the aether, though, that should have been impossible. The aether, the reality stone, had been destroyed along with all the others by Thanos, then returned safely to its own time when they were done using it to undo the Blip. Thor had seen to that personally. The journey hadn't been easy, but it had been necessary. What the hel happened here?
"We should keep moving, in case the next one decides to make us its lunch."
