Diana had given very little thought to the others here, specifically. As a whole people, they were almost all she thought about, but in terms of a person-to-person level, Diana had very much removed herself. It was just easier that way, and especially once she’d heard that people would leave and appear regularly. Someone she made friends with might leave, and it wasn’t as if there was a warning or a fanfare.
She had not been able to stay removed from Thor, though, and that was obvious as she gave him another sunny smile, as he spoke to her of Monster. She’d had a Red Bull once and knew they were similar, but she’d sworn off energy drinks after her heart had raced so badly she’d gone as far out of city limits as she could and set off something of a light show. Her heart had been calm after that, but Diana didn’t drink energy drinks now. Humans were tough on the inside.
“I don’t get them often. I usually drink a cup of coffee and then it’s tea or water after that.” She shrugged, reaching up to adjust the shoulder of the racer back top she was wearing. It was red, and empire waisted, so it flowed down over the hips of her leggings as well. She’d thrown a black sparkly cardigan over that, and of course, her sneakers.
Diana finished her coffee while Thor changed, tossing the little cup into the garbage, which would disappear at some point. She wasn’t sure if there was ghostly hotel help or what, but either way, she wasn’t going around throwing trash on the floor. She watched in silence as Thor made himself a makeshift sling for Stormbreaker, and nodded her approval.
“Very clever,” she said lightly, because she wouldn’t have thought of it. She still remembered the first time she’d taken the Amazonian sword, the one she’d mistaken for the Godkiller, out into London. She hadn’t even had a sheath for it, and instead had simply brandished a sword in human London. Steve Trevor really had been the most patient man. “Ready?”
Diana slipped out the door, fairly sure she’d be followed. He’d had shoes on and all, that meant ready. Right?
