"Okay. That's good. You should know I'm not very brave," he said, with a slight grin. Just being with GIlmore had calmed his nerves, and he was actually looking forward a bit to going out, even knowing that they could run into something unsavoury. "It's too bad I don't have an invisibility cloak. That could have come in handy right about now."
He grinned back at Gilmore, moving close as the other man linked their arms. He always wanted to be close to Gilmore. The man smelled intoxicatingly good to him, and was warm and firm against his side. An anchor to the here and now, he thought.
"He's pretty fast, and he's been feeling cooped up on the island I think. But, luckily Manhattan isn't all that large, if I'm not mistaken. I've never been, but I believe it's about the half the land size of London, which is a large city in my country." He let Gilmore lead them out into the city, and tried not to be too nervous. His wand was readily available, and he had Gilmore. They would be fine. "I was very excited about New York. The shopping is supposed to be incredible, and I was thinking it would be a very nice place for a date."
The city itself was very tall and got more modern the further you got from Central Park. "It's not like London, either. London is much older." He looked around again, at the buildings that went up and up and up. "And shorter, mostly." There were the more modern areas of course, but Theo didn't have much experience with those, having stuck strictly to Diagon Alley when in the city. "Be as judgemental as you like. It's one of my favorite things to do."
As they walked, he cast the locator charm he'd put on Helios' collar, but nothing came back. "He's probably kept in the park. Lots of green areas, trees, things to chase and hunt. we can stroll through and keep our eyes out for him." And, of course, any monsters that might be nearby.
