"It didn't seem too bad," Gilmore replied, his expression serious. "There were a few things wandering around but nothing too sinister, nothing that couldn't be dealt with easily," he shrugged, not having looked at any of his equipment since he'd met up with Audrey and headed out.
"I think it's easy to avoid anyone if you're careful," he scratched the back of his head. "There's lots of side streets and alleys and I mean, you can duck into shops." He didn't want to believe he'd just been lucky. Surely everything was just a series of unfortunate incidents if people were bumping into bad things.
"Right, well, we'd better head out then. He can't have gone too far, it's not a worry," Gilmore added with a smile, gesturing Theo out of the door, linking their arms together as they headed down to the lobby and back out into New York.
"I've never seen a city like this before," he said quietly. "I've never seen anything this big, anything- these building are huge. It's so impressive that anything like this can be built without magic of some kind. It's so impressive, don't you think? Well, I suppose you've seen things like this. We have towers, minarets in Marquet and things, but so many tall buildings for just such menial purposes is a fascinating use of supplies." Gilmore laughed softly. "Not to be too judgemental."
