Material Girl had the sort of sound that Conrad had been expecting from something 'futuristic'. And while it was fine, he very much preferred the sound of Queen. It felt closer to what he would have listened to on his own. "What's wrong with being a Beatles fan?" Conrad frowned, tipping back the Scotch. The Beatles were something of a sensitive subject. Though men and women alike appeared to like the band, his own friends had always labeled it as 'women's' music. Conrad had been teased endlessly for enjoying them. ..even though they were a perfectly good band.
Another One Bites The Dust did indeed have a good beat to it. However, Conrad wouldn't break out into dance just yet. Dancing was sensitive subject number two. In fact, fun in general was something the Brit had to ease into. It was the war, it was Saigon. It was a number of things. To be clear, Conrad wasn't opposed to cutting loose. It just took him longer than others to get there.
He shook his head. "Mm, you're going to have to try harder that." Even if he was enjoying Queen. And Wesley's shimmies. And his wandering eyes conveyed as much.
It may have seemed like Conrad was being difficult, but he was attempting to let his guard down. Really, he was. Hence the ample amount of Scotch he was consuming. "Here, let me pick one.." While the rest of Another One Bites The Dust played, Conrad leaned over the jukebox, flipping through his options until he found something.. That something being The Kinks' All Day And All Of The Night, which had his fingers tapping against the side of the jukebox as soon as it came on.
"If you tell me this is groovy, I'm going to hit you."
