The night before had been good, cathartic. She'd needed the ambiance and the feeling of a close-knit community to help put her mind back where it should be. Most of the time, everything here felt like pure chaos and that made it all the more important to take moments just to chill out. Hopefully, Audrey was headed towards a bit more of that right now. It was that weird early afternoon time when there was nothing super interesting happening and a kind of lull settled over the hotel. That was hardly consistent, given all the shit it threw them into on a regular basis, but it was nice when it hit. It was the perfect time to find some space and do nothing at all. It was still too early in the day for liquor, so Audrey grabbed a six-pack of some fancy craft beer from the bar's coolers and headed downstairs. She'd been in the tea room before, a couple of times, because it had a nice atmosphere and no one really expected much of her when shisha was involved. Sometimes she brought her guitar down with her. Sometimes she put in her headphones and listened to music while J'mon painted or wrote or whatever they did. Today the only thing she had in hand was the beer and her makeup bag. The unmistakable scent of syrupy molasses, honey, and a hint of mint greeted her before she'd even opened the door. There was also something else, something new and different just underneath it. But Audrey didn't question it. It didn't have the tale-tell scent of cannabis, but she also wasn't super concerned. Instead, she made her way inside - leaving her shoes at the door - and plunked the beer down on the central table. Any time she got to hang out with Gilmore was a good time. She smiled brightly at him, whipped her makeup bag out of the back pocket of her jeans, and dropped down on the cushions next to him. "I brought my kohl, all my golds, and six different purples so I hope you're ready for me to be all up in your face," she said. "I figured it'd a good use of our time." |
