Those romantic feelings were getting harder and harder to ignore with each passing day. Diana was the kind of friend Thor thrived on having, with so many similar interests, a very much shared perspective on the world, and that heart of hers. He was in too deep, already, and worse? He knew it. Occasionally, at his lowest points, Thor had wondered if Diana was sent to him as another trick of the hotel, something to make him stop looking for the way out. If that was the case, it had worked to a point. Thor had come to accept that there was no way back, not yet at least, and chosen to continue the life he was trying to reclaim, not go back to the one left in ashes on Earth.
Thor did his best to keep the whole situation in context, but it wasn't always easy, knowing this was a pocket dimension, more or less, a nexus between the worlds. Maybe that was why so many of his dreams had been memories, recently. Challenges, in some, his biggest failures in others. Every night lately, Thor heard Thanos's voice ringing in his hears, and whether a dream or a ghost, he couldn't be certain, but it woke him in a cold sweat every time it happened.
You should have gone for the head...
Not last night though. With Diana's head on his chest and the sound of her steady, calm breathing to relax him, Thor found that neither Thanos, Hela, or any others came to him. He'd just been able to rest. He only woke when Diana did, her weight shifting on his chest and her hair tickling his nose just a bit. As they tried to wake, they settle on breakfast and he was all too happy to not be rid of her yet.
In the silence following her statement about their bond, he ate comfortably as well, feeling better and more rested than he had all week. It wasn't a full night's sleep, but it was enough that he wasn't feeling sluggish or distracted by it. When he dared to speak again, his voice was still quiet and raspy as well. Coffee worked wonders, but it only worked so fast. "I think we've found something that works, then. If you ever have trouble resting, I mean."
