Matt was certain that Foggy didn't mean his comment about everyone wanting to be left alone in any sort of way. But he couldn't help but be reminded of all the times his issues had drawn Foggy and Karen into trouble. And all they'd wanted was to just be left alone. A logical part of his mind knew he was reading into things that Foggy hadn't said, but after everything he'd been through in the weeks leading up to his arrival here, Matt couldn't seem to help it. He huffed softly and shook his head, "I haven't told her that," He assured him. But he had a feeling that Karen and Foggy both knew him well enough to know that Matt was always going to be the sort to put himself on the line to keep them safe. "Doesn't change things though, you know?"
As Foggy let himself grow philosophical about food, Matt was relieved at least for this part of their conversation, it was easy and simple and without judgement. And he liked the way Foggy could talk about things that he'd clearly given some thought to - things just like this. "What if we do happen to find some mythical perfect food?" He wondered. "Is that going to throw off your entire world view?"
And then Foggy said it, Nelson and Murdock and Matt felt his heart clench at even just the teasing suggestion of it. It was - it was more than he ever could have asked for again. He knew he was... a lot, and Foggy had walked away and Matt couldn't blame him despite the ache in his heart over it. But hearing him now suggest an impossible branch of their office in space was just something that he hadn't known he needed until now. "I like the sound of that." He said rather than any of the other thoughts running through his mind.
