“I know you don’t have a lot of experience, that’s why I want to make sure you know you can ask me questions. You can ask whatever you want, my darling, there’s nothing that’s going to be inappropriate. And I will be honest with you.” Gilmore waited, fully attentive to Theo as he worked through what he knew right now. A smile curled at the corner of his lips, nodding his head.
“It’s an open relationship. We’re not both necessarily going to be dating other people, sometimes it’s just sex, but-” Gilmore added quickly. “This, you and I, this isn’t just about sex. Which is probably obvious, though there’s no harm in reassuring you. You’re important to me. I want to spend time with you because I enjoy your company, not just because I’m attracted to you. I am responsible for making sure you know what’s going on. You can’t ask if you don’t know.”
He beamed, feeling warm at the compliments, at the feelings he’d caused in Theo, that he’d inspired in him. That was wonderful on its own, but they could adventure together, they could experience things, new or not, together.
“All I ask is that you feel comfortable talking to me about anything. If anyone else catches your eye there’s no harm in that. We have one life, but we’ve been blessed with this ability to have two for the time being. And you’re opening yourself up to new experiences,” he teased, winking.
Once more, though, Gilmore grew serious, holding Theo’s hands between his own as reassuringly as he could. “We spend a lot of time together, this isn’t going to change. We’re going to jump through random portals and run into peculiar doors, and we’re going to get you flying. I’m looking forward to seeing you doing that more than anything, right now. Well-” he pulled a thoughtful face, the hint of a smirk in the corner of his lips. “There are some other things but one at a time, hm? Do you want to help me? Two lots of focus is better than one.”
