Theo had been doing a bang-up job of not thinking too much about what had happened at Ciri's party. Mostly because he wasn't sure what had happened. J'mon and Gilmore clearly had history and were possibly a couple, but J'mon had been perfectly lovely and even if they were together, that didn't mean that he and Gilmore couldn't be friends. They were friends, and he didn't want to lose that just because he'd read more into the situation than was there. And there was also the fact that he still thought he was missing something about the whole situation but at this point, he felt awkward asking.
It didn't help that he thought Gilmore might be avoiding him. He hadn't been by to work on the broom in a couple of days, though Theo hadn't reached out either so that probably wasn't all on Gilmore. He could have messaged when he hadn't seen him after the party, but he'd told himself that if Gilmore wanted to see him he'd make an effort. It probably wasn't the most mature reaction, and it was entirely possible that he was, again, making something out of nothing. He knew he had a tendency to be dramatic when faced with difficult situations, always dreaming up the worst-case scenario. The worst-case scenario in this situation being that Gilmore had been playing with his emotions and laughing about it with J'mon behind his back. Never mind that neither Gilmore or J'mon were that type. Theo knew that, for all he'd only really just met both of them.
So these were the thoughts that had been circulating in Theo's brain over the past several days, enough that by the time Gilmore did show up he'd talked himself in and out of twelve different reactions from shouting at him to ordering him to leave without explanation. Neither of those were actually what he wanted to do, however, and he couldn't help the way he leaned into the touch to his cheek, eyes fluttering shut as Gilmore tugged gently at the end of his hair as he apologized.
"You don't owe me anything," he said, reaching up to wrap his fingers around Gilmpre's wrist before he could go too far. Any anger he might have, which wasn't much considering the majority of what he felt was a mix of anxiety and confusion, had dissipated almost immediately at the other man's entrance "I...have questions, and I think I might owe you an apology, actually. I...think I read things into what was happening that wasn't actually happening. Which is fine, and I definitely still want to work on the broom, and I like your company."
