She would have said otherwise, in terms of being good at this. The whole thing felt unplanned, uncalculated, something done with wild abandon, but then… Diana had lived a very cautious life, out among the humans. She had hidden herself away, tucked herself into darkness and nooks and crannies, helping where she could and refusing to let herself truly see the light of day. Mysterious female, indeed. But Diana had not always been that way. Once, Diana had leaped fearlessly from every building in Themyscira. Sometimes Hippolyta was there to catch her… sometimes not.
That same Diana had stormed out of Themyscira because the Amazons had a duty to fulfill, and if no one was going to do it, Diana herself would. She was impetuous, headstrong, and prone not to listen to caution when it might have been prudent. She’d been lucky so far, that her power had exceeded that recklessness, but not quite wise enough to know how lucky.
Diana knew how lucky she was not, however, when Thor backed away from her, the arm he’d still had holding her in place falling away, and Diana followed his eyes. There was nothing, but that did not mean there was nothing, and so she waited. His hand was still on her side, and she knew that she had not caused this. Or at least, she hoped that she hadn’t, because moving so quickly might have been a mistake.
“Thor?” She asked softly, the first time her voice had been so much as uncertain. That had been before the jumping started, and Diana scooted a bit so that she was not backed against a tree. This was not something she could fight or help with, and so instead, she simply watched.
It did look quite funny, but for once, Diana did manage to keep the giggles away. Barely.
