Diana did not know much of Asgardian culture. In truth, she did not even know how much of Thor’s general mannerisms were the result of his time on Earth (Midgard) or because of the Asgardians he had grown up with. She might one day sort that out, but there was no base of knowledge for her to pull from, even despite being omnilingual and generally intelligent. Despite that being the case, Diana froze in his arms when he answered her, because she knew darn good and well what an enchantress was, no matter whose culture it was coming from.
Her surprise was evident on her face, but it was not unhappy. “And I will hold you to that, Thunder God,” she murmured, her voice low and very soft, but she knew he’d hear her. And then she knew she needed to leave the circle of his arms now, before she did something dumb. And he’d been very clear so far that any closer than this was dumb. “Are you trying to charm me into letting you win? That is a fool’s errand, you know. Charming as you are.” Diana grinned even wider, and got up on her tiptoes to kiss the tip of his nose.
Friends kissed, after all. And then she stepped a little further away from him, because reasons.
