She had not precisely meant to flirt, but then again, she hadn’t precisely meant for any of this to happen. It hadn’t been very long that she’d been back in New York, living her regular life and planning to head back to Washington, D.C. soon enough. She had woken here, in the Crown Plaza. Her life had felt like a whirlwind since then, and not least because of the very man she was coming here to meet. Again. And in reality, Diana didn’t even know if that was properly the word for him.
Not to impugn his masculinity in any way. Oh, no. It was only that Diana had so little experience with men at all, and to her mind, the best of them had been Steve Trevor. She was aware this was human men she was speaking of in that context, but the point remained. Sweet, funny, and braver than anyone else she knew in the human world. At the time, Diana had found him to be quite tolerant of what she considered to be alien concepts for him. And then she had arrived here, and discovered that as it happened, Steve might’ve been the best human that ever trod the Earth, but Steve was still only just a man. So then what did that make Thor?
Diana was pulled out of that reverie as Thor approached, and she laughed out loud, a joyous and somewhat triumphant sound. He had heard, and there was something so funny about that that she could not keep her giggles in. She had dressed for comfort and motion, and to that end, was wearing small black shorts and a simple cotton tee shirt with her sneakers. Diana’s armor featured quite a short skirt, so it did not occur to her how very much leg she had.
“You haven’t let me down yet, Thunder God,” she said brightly, and she pulled him into a quick hug. She ended that fast, because she needed some distance from him and the tingling she felt when they touched.
