Hannibal was glad that Will returned the kiss. It had seen such a near thing as they clung to each other atop the cliffs, and the kiss he had given Will as they fell had been forgiveness and benediction in the minuscule amount of time before they were to die. To have him return the kiss now suggested they were on the same page when it came to affection. And the subtle suggestion in the mention of the room they would share reinforced that suggestion. Hannibal smiled.
"That would be advisable, yes," he said. He brushed his fingers against Will's cheek once more, smiling fondly, then released him altogether and began walking along the water's edge.
