“I wish.” Ancient Greek, the first language Diana had ever learned, mumbled very softly and hopefully imperceptibly as she stood to collect her plate and glass for washing. It was not often that Diana slipped out of English these days, but she was quite glad she had in this instance. If Thor had heard her at all, the odds of his knowing what she’d said were fairly slim. Or so she assumed, which might have been unwise. Still, she had had to give some response to that statement, unable to simply let it fly by her.
So she had, somewhat. “I shall meet you in your room, then. Text me when you’re there?” She didn’t want to be knocking on an empty door, after all. She did have these dishes to do, though, and so after Thor’s affirmation, she leaned in to press a kiss to the top of his head. He was still seated, after all, so it was much easier than it might’ve been otherwise. “See you soon, Thunder God.” And she made her way to the kitchen so she could wash these up.
Now she’d have to find a book to start reading, because she hadn’t been. Maybe there was a Kindle app on the phone they’d given her? Why had she picked the excuse of a book? She could’ve said anything and she’d picked a book.
