It made it easy to talk to her when she asked questions with such interest. This wasn't always easy for Thor to talk about, but he could tell Diana this much. She already knew about the worst things that had ever happened to him. How different was this, really? Thor kept his tone even as he continued his tale, hands now clasped on the table.
"When I was exiled, I was sent to Midgard, to a place called New Mexico. I met my first human friends there and discovered a plot orchestrated by my brother Loki. It was... not entirely a bad time, all things considered. I tried coffee for the first time, so there was that. My hammer had fallen with me, with an enchantment placed on it by my father to judge my worth. When I was able, I earned it back, regained my power and was able to stop my brother's war machines from destroying the town I was in. I was led back to Asgard to stop my brother after that."
He didn't tell Diana about Jane. He wouldn't yet, even if she asked. Neither had a reason to ask about the other's romantic past though. It wasn't their places, not yet. Besides, what was there to really say on the subject of any merit?
"Do you suppose there's any possibility you could return to your home someday?"
