She wasn’t sure if it was rude of her to think this way, but Diana privately felt that maybe she just didn’t like humans. Well, no, that wasn’t true. It was just that she couldn’t remember the last time she had simply enjoyed a quiet moment with someone, soaking in the sound of their breathing and the touch of their skin. And that might’ve been because Diana had noted that the humans didn’t like to sit still and be quiet.
Diana shivered as his thumb moved over her hand, and her eyes turned down to watch, as though he was doing some sort of magic. She’d opened her mouth to answer him, maybe even ask if he wanted to come upstairs and wait while she got changed, and Zeus only knew what might’ve happened after that.
Lucky for both of them, Thor’s stomach wouldn’t let itself go ignored, and instead of speaking, Diana wound up opening her mouth to laugh. “Of course,” she said lightly, and she stood slowly, disengaging herself from Thor as she did, pulling her hand from his. “Meet you in the dining room? You can come upstairs if you like, but we’re just gonna head right back down.”
It seemed like a waste of effort on his part, so Diana busied herself with collecting her flip-flops and shimmying into the netted tee shirt she’d brought along, so she could walk back upstairs without feeling like she was nude. Not that that did anything here and now, with Thor’s eyes on her. And Diana had been taking her opportunities to sneak looks at him, so it was fair.
