"Because we're together?" He asked, offering her a knowing smirk. Truthfully though, he was humbled by that. The 1980s were a lot further away for him than they were for her and for a moment, he forgot about the time displacement, just letting himself feel it for a moment, the pride and accomplishment, knowing he'd made her smile for a bit. The joke was terrible and he knew it, but he had to throw it out there. It's what he would have expected her to do.
"I feel... Alive, with you. Like that first day, when we were training. I've not felt my blood boil like that in years, not enjoyed a contest nearly so much.
