Diana didn’t move much as his hand covered hers, except to allow the side of her thumb to trail along the side of his hand, simply wanting more contact with him. Other than Steve Trevor’s dramatic display outside earlier, Diana also suffered less when Thor was around, although that might have been the simple comfort of feeling safe with him, knowing that there was nothing that could hurt her. That was probably a false comfort, but she believed it anyway. “Oh!” Diana’s exclamation wasn’t upset or angry, but simply surprised as she realized that that had been Thor’s exact idea, to an extent.
Mischief danced in her eyes and she bit down on her lower lip visibly as she struggled, holding her tongue with both hands and all ten toes to keep from making a flippant joke about Thor trying to get her into bed with him. She did this because, while that would have been funny, she knew that he was nervous, and unsure of even asking her this. She could almost feel it, in the way his hand flexed against her side and the look in his mismatched eyes. “I’d like that. I feel safe when I’m with you, and it makes sleep look a lot more likely,” she said softly, and she leaned her head on his shoulder, her voice soft as she continued. “And I’d be glad to help you get some sleep regardless, even if it’s just to keep them quiet enough that you can.”
Diana couldn’t get much closer, pressed to his side as she was, but she wanted to anyway.
