Diana had noticed that his face seemed pinker than it normally was, but her own face felt hot and she was trying very hard not to stare at him in far less clothes than she’d seen him in previously, and so she didn’t focus on it. Diana did not doubt that their almost-kiss had not been some sort of trick, but she also presumed that Thor had been taken in by the general moment. She knew that she had, though she had also by this point acknowledged that she simply wanted him. It was hard not to, not after the things they’d shared and the lightning that she’d seen flash in his eyes. And that was to say nothing of his now being here in board shorts, and nothing else. There were not enough hot tubs in the entire universe for this.
She was still beside him as he sat up, because it wasn’t until after that that she scooted away, and his suddenly being even closer probably didn’t help matters. Her hand had moved from the back of his head to his shoulder, and the other still on his chest, and she smiled at him. “You are never an interruption,” she said sternly, and she clasped her other hand around his to help him up. Diana put a little more oomph into it than she should’ve, judging him to be heavier than she thought or herself to be weaker than she thought, but either way, when she pulled him up, he came up to his feet and stumbled into her.
She kept her feet without any issue, and she was enough to keep him on his feet despite the slick floor, but for one moment that felt like she’d touched the sun, they were pressed together. And then Diana stepped back and cleared her throat and gave him a sunny smile. “Oh, of course not. I’ll sleep again eventually. How about you? Did you get any sleep?” She asked, and she turned away from him for a time to walk toward the edge of the pool itself. She sat on the edge and dipped her feet in, and patted the tile next to her. “Come sit with me? I’m glad you’re here.”
