Diana had not yet been in the pool, but the room was generally wet and others had been here before them, presumably. Or perhaps the ghosts had simply deigned that Thor was going to have a rough day today. “Good morni- Oh!” Diana had been partway through the traditional response to his greeting when he’d stepped into the room, and it had not escaped her notice that he would not look at her. That hardly mattered, though, because it seemed he wouldn’t look at the ground either, until his feet went out from under him and he’d gone down.
She was more used to slip sliding around while she fought to begin with, and so it was not difficult for Diana to cross the room in a few short steps and finish the motion on her knees, so that she wound up beside Thor. It was in her nature to help, and in this case, she could not have stopped herself if she had wanted to, even if she had taken the time to think through what she was doing. Obviously she hadn’t, though, because she came to a stop with one hand resting on the back of Thor’s head and the other on his bare chest, and her legs and knees more or less pressed into his side, or settled against.
“Are-” Diana choked, swallowed and continued, ignoring that it had happened at all. “Are you okay?” It was a silly question, considering who she was asking, but she was so used to being surrounded by humans that it had been the natural reaction, and she’d been over here before she’d even realized she was going to move. “Of course you are. Silly of me.” She scooted back, sliding in the water now simply dripping off of her, and stood, leaning down to offer Thor a hand as help up.
