Caleb didn't think it was any more selfish of Caduceus to want control than to want to give it up himself. That was a lot to put on another person, he knew. Expecting them to take care of you and, to an extent, anticipate your needs. But it was good that they could both find these moments where they slowly but surely sorted out their feelings and were able to communicate those things to each other. He'd never really had the confidence - or the opportunity - to do that before. And while he was still coming down from that amazing high, it felt like exactly the thing he needed to catch him on the way.
It was just so good to be able to settle in there after everything that had led up to it. He slipped his hand up and rest it over Caduceus' hand, right over his heart, and pressed a kiss to his shoulder. He was still mostly on top of him but that was fast becoming his favorite place to be anyhow.
"I think I do need you, though..." Caleb said, just a quiet thought at first, with barely any direction to it. "Of course I can do all those things myself, and I can do them perfectly well, but you know how easily distracted I can be. You know that sometimes I need reminding to do something as simple as eat." Or drink more than beer and coffee, which really was not the healthiest thing. His diet was a shambles long before the Mighty Nein and their penchant for week-old stale muffins and whiskey came into play. "I'm a mess on a good day," he shrugged, not trying to seek out any sort of argument or validation to the contrary, just stating a simple fact as he saw it. "And you... you do all this for me." He gestured idly to the bed, the books, the plates and dishes off to the side, and most of all to the presence of Caduceus' arms around him. "This of how much more of a disaster I would be if you weren't here to keep an eye on me."
He was teasing a bit, but he was also trying to soothe Caduceus' nerves a bit. He leaned up for another kiss, pausing just before their lips met in a wordless request for permission. "You can ask for what you want too," he added, once he'd gotten what he wanted. "Even if you're not sure that you might like it, you should still ask. The worst that could happen is that we know it's not something we like." Simple as that. Caleb felt very comfortable saying if something wasn't right for him. But so far nothing had been. He stifled a small yawn and tucked his head back down against Caduceus' shoulder. "Do you think those tarts will keep a bit longer? I'd like to revisit those, after a bit of a nap."
