Caduceus wasn't quite sure what the feeling in his chest was when he saw the unfocused look on Caleb's face, the flush in his cheeks, as though he were on his way to somewhere wonderful. That was- excellent. It was lovely. Caleb was lovely.
He hummed happily at the light brush of fingers, unable to stop the shiver that followed in their wake. Of course Caleb could touch, Caleb needed to touch, and he was never going to deny him that.
His eyes widened, surprised, and Caduceus felt his heart - already fluttering - thump hard against his ribs at Caleb's request. He was honoured beyond believe to have been granted this permission. The enormity wasn't lost on him at all, and it was taking a lot of willpower to keep himself calm and controlled.
"Of course, Bren. If that's what you want." Caduceus' thumb stroked over Caleb's cheekbone again, and despite all of the control he couldn't contain the brightness of his smile. "And you can change your mind if you want to at any time."
The smile remained in place at Caleb's eagerness, and perhaps a little hum followed when the other man's lips parted for him, the flutters now settling down in his belly. Caduceus waited patiently, his eyes drifting over his wizard's lovely face as he sampled the pie.
"Thank you so much, Bren," he said, his pleasure at the response rumbling in his voice. "That was wonderful. We can make one together next time, you can let me know if little bits need changing." Leaning forward he pressed a slow kiss to Caleb's lips.
Caduceus had thought that maybe that would be enough for now, but he was happily surprised at the enthusiasm, and that Caleb was asking.
"Of course you can have more. Thank you for asking." He gathered up another forkful of the pie and offered it. "That's very good. I'm so proud." Caduceus smiled, tucking some of Caleb's hair before resuming cupping his cheek gently, even as Caleb chewed. Barely pausing, Caduceus filled the fork again.
"You're so beautiful," he sighed, waiting for Caleb to swallow. "You remind me of the colours of fall, which is my favourite time of the year. Almost as though Melora saw me looking at the leaves in wonder and created you for me to find and love. One more mouthful," Caduceus added, holding up the bit of pie.
