"There are things that we are capable of now that I know we would never have dreamt of a year ago. And it's an awfully big thing, it's awfully important. But we can't do it forever," Caduceus smiled, clearly optimistic about their future and their chances. What good would it do to feel otherwise? Plus, he found it difficult to think of anything negative here, so far removed as they were.
He tipped his head and looked at Caleb with fond bemusement. "Why wouldn't I be there? I will go wherever you go. We can have a place like this, looking over the sea. It'd be soothing as you worked. And imagine how peaceful the grove would be for you to work in when we visit my parents." Caduceus stopped himself then, because he had probably given everything too much thought, but it was just so hard to not daydream. After all, sometimes all they had was their hopes of the future.
"Cooking isn't a bother, ever. I take as much pleasure in that as I do in gardening. I suppose I inherited all the nurturing skills," Caduceus mused. "I'd try and cook meat so you don't get bored with a thousand different ways with vegetables, but I've heard it can make you sick if it's not cooked properly." He had yet to learn about the meat substitutes in the fridges. That would be a wild day. "Perhaps we can go into the tower one day- you can make a simpler version, but it would be easier for me to bring samples down to you. Or you can just join me in the kitchen and I can feed you as I go," he chuckled.
He released Caleb's hand only so that he could run his fingers through the other man's hair. "I can brush this for you later, if you'd like? We can relax here. I'll take the plates back down in the morning. I'm yours for the rest of the day. And all night."
