Thor didn't want to even guess at what kind of ghost could haunt a woman like Diana and actually trouble her. Inevitably, it was a man she'd loved deeply, but he wouldn't pry or ask for the details. It wasn't his place. They didn't know each other well enough yet, despite this intense connection they already had. He could see Diana clearly though, beautiful as she was, and felt himself immediately lighten, pressure leaving him just being in her presence. Then she hugged him like that, so tight and so close, and he couldn't help but almost instinctively wrap his arms around her, holding her close.
"Thank you."
It was all he could manage for a moment. She'd taken him by such surprise that he couldn't speak for a few seconds. More than that, the part of him that was still purely a man, a beast of instinct, was focused wholly on the weight against his chest, the soft, feminine touch, and even the scent of Diana so close. Thor pulled back a step when Diana did the same, laughing off her awkwardness, though he kept quiet. When she gestured, he fell in line and followed.
"It's a nice night for a walk, isn't it? Maybe this will let us clear our heads and finally sleep."
