Nope. She absolutely did not, although in her defense, most men were entirely too busy running from her in moments like this to appreciate her wit. More was the pity, because so far, Steve Trevor had remained the only man who did not wind up frightened of her, or did not truly know her. He truly had been an exceptional human, but it was odd that her thoughts should vomit that up now. Or perhaps it was not. This was a realm of chaos and strangeness, and Diana had resolved simply to enjoy it while she could.
And Thor was doing his best to help with that, and succeeding. She let him mistake it for flying, because why bother to correct him? It came to the same, really, and even when hovering wasn’t enough, she could leap high enough that it didn’t matter. Get a shield under her, and it was unknown just how high Diana could actually go. They hadn’t fully tested the theory, and now there was a distinct lack of people who understood the meaning of a yell for a shield on an Amazon battlefield.
Her laugh was long and loud as she realized that Thor had not only gotten himself a weapon, but he’d been courteous enough to make sure he couldn’t stab her with it, and then the time for laughter was done. Diana did not get a weapon, because she didn’t need one. Her everyday motions were well within the normal for a human, because Diana focused hard and willed it so… but they didn’t have to be, and Thor was missing more than he was hitting with the stick he’d grabbed. He did hit her, but she blocked them as best she could and took the ones she couldn’t.
While he was swinging, Diana was thinking, and this time, she didn’t telegraph what she was going to do before she dropped and swept his feet out from under him. She flipped him to his stomach and pinned him again, this time knelt on his back. It was probably safer, because it was sure a lot easier to focus while he wasn’t looking up at her with lightning in his eyes and thunder in his soul.
