She had not distracted him on purpose, because Diana thought of her body as a tool first and a female form second, but that was neither here nor there, because faster than she would’ve thought possible, Thor had recovered. And the extra processing boost to her brain meant that it felt like she had all the time in the world to process that she was about to take a full on person to the face.
Still, it didn’t seem that extra processing time did her a darn bit of good, because despite superhuman speed, Diana only had enough time to turn so that she didn’t take a direct hit to the face. He knocked her back, similarly to how she had, but Diana was no Asgardian warrior, meant to stand their ground and bellow at their enemy. No, Diana was an Amazon, and they fought differently.
Diana had been thrown backward, and she drove a foot into the ground to change her momentum, up rather than back, twisting in midair until her hands could hit the ground and spring her back to her feet. She wasn’t quite ready and hadn’t been tested this way in decades, so it wasn’t perfect, and she wound up knelt rather than standing. They certainly had not considered the grass in their calculations, already torn from Diana’s attempts to right herself, but she was laughing too hard to calculate it now.
“I haven’t been hit that hard in fifty years,” she said jubilantly, and ran at him. “I bet you can do better.” This time, Diana went for his legs.
