Before Thor knew what was happening when Diana arrived, they'd started. He thought he could take her, or at least get around her. But those eyes and those clothes, damn her. She'd distracted him on purpose! That had to be it. There's no other way a woman her size could hit like that. Even Hulk didn't hit that hard. As he coughed and sputtered against the tree, trying to free himself from the Thor-shaped indent, he almost smirked.
He was going to enjoy this.
He could hear Diana calling his name from across the way, but Thor didn't answer immediately. Instead, with his legs free, he braced his feet flat against the tree's hollowed section, where his legs had been, then flipped his palms flat against the damaged bark and tensed. The distance was, maybe, 50 meters between them or less and Thor had no extra momentum. But as Odin once said, he wasn't the god of Hammers, after all. He didn't need the extra nonsense.
Thor pushed off the tree, hard, and launched himself like he'd been shot out of a cannon straight at Diana's beautiful face.
