"It's... well it will be fine eventually. I know his soul moved on and maybe I'll see him again." There was not much to say. Dan knew there was more beyond, saw it, heard it, felt it. He did not fear death nor shy away from others dying. It had been the manner in which the death had occurred that made him feel guilty over it.
He saw the flashes of images from Richie's mind and pulled himself out of the other's mind to allow him privacy in the matter. Their world had not been kind to them because they had the shine. A Blessing and a curse could be found in it.
Dan didn't exactly flirt himself, though he was not above giving genuine compliments. He liked seeing others smile. There was enough soul smashing things in the world that a sense of calmness and a smile every now and then couldn't hurt. Finding that Richie was a comedian, Dan could only assume he went a lot more extroverted way of the same thought. One did not need to be an actual extrovert for the stage but its display was just that.
"Dan Torrance," he smirked reviving his own name from their internal dialogue. "Oh. I think I overheard some of your show when I was working. That would explain the familiarity." He paused. "How long have you been in this hotel?"
