A smile of acknowledgement to the joke brushed across his lips. "I was renting and I would never live at that hotel- literally." Still, he laughed. "It was in the middle of nowhere in Colorado, but no it never took me to Jurassic Park. It mostly just wanted me dead."
Dan leaned against the check-in counter, having signed in as it required and his room assigned just before Richie had arrived to be the terrible guide he thought he was.
He nodded. "I'm sure Abra would like to see you pull a rabbit out but you'd need a hat first." Dan had an amused tone as he shook his head at the man. "So if you have the Shine, then are you from our-" He paused to think of a word that wouldn't sound crazy coming out of his mouth. "-home? Some woman said she was from a place where they had a thing called the Force."
If Dan hadn't been so incredibly aware that there was more in the world than what normal people thought, he would have related it to a book or movie also.
