"Hm," she sounded thoughtfully at the mention of Crowe. A black mage. The thought of the queen shifting her focus from Beatrix and her loyal army to black mages had confused her and now he spoke of fighting alongside one regularly. Then again, he did say he too was a mage of a sort, didn't he. But it was the crown's magic he wielded at their behest.
She didn't find all magic users inherently evil. Garnet was a summoner and her small friend Vivi had been a kindhearted black mage himself. "My army is all women," she explained easily as they made their way down the hall toward her room. "The Knights of Pluto are all men," led by a man who had once bested her in combat. Once. It hadn't been information he'd requested, but he was sharing quite a bit, so she felt no harm in doing the same.
"It is an honor and a privilege to protect my queen and kingdom." There wasn't a hint of hesitation in her words. "The only stress I have is the thought of failing them, so I make sure that I don't."
Beatrix came to a stop in front of her door and turned to look up at him. "Thank you for the escort."
