"Well I am sorry that he was that way with you" he answered sincerely, wanting her to know that he did genuinely feel her. He did understand the whole thing with fathers; his father hadn't really been the best of people either. He had made life hell for his kids; hell he had even tried to kill them.
"That's a good policy to have" he continued on as he looked over at her. "I try to remember that not everyone tells the whole of their story". He clearly understood more than most about what it was like to be misunderstood.
