"I'm glad I could be a part of something new for you," He said with a grin, he knew what she meant - his life was full of new things in some ways, but not in the way this place was new, and certainly not in the way that Diana herself was new for him. It was a welcome thing to find in a place that seemed to contain more questions than answers.
He considered her apology, nodding his acceptance, he didn't blame her for only seeing the exciting that this place offered. And he certainly didn't blame her for not being aware of what he'd left behind, he hadn't told her much about his life. But what struck him more was the suggestion that she didn't have anyone to miss in the same way he did. "Do you not have anyone where you're from?" He asked her, hoping that he wasn't prying too deeply. "No friends?" At the very least she should have that, Diana seemed like such a warm and open person, the idea that she could be alone did not sit right with him.
"I ah - I have people back home." Lois and Johnathan, his mother, Jimmy, Kara, and so many others. He'd made a life for himself, created a family and made friends. But all of that was gone now, consumed by the anti-matter and they were just waiting for the paragons to fix things and set the universe to right. Clark had to maintain faith that they would, or else he'd be crushed under the weight of all he'd lost. "A family, but they are - they're waiting." He said with as much confidence as he could muster, the same as him. "And we'll be together again I'm sure of that."
