Diana’s unfailing positivity was just one of those things about her that she didn’t seem to understand was unusual until someone pointed out how silly it was to be so optimistic all the time. Still, that line of thinking only really made sense when one was unable to affect change the way Diana was. There was only one of her, however, and so that certainly made things more difficult. That reminded her that she was not even technically an Amazon, and the duty of bringing peace to the hearts of Mankind was not hers to fulfill, and her eyebrows wrinkled together.
It had been a long, long time since any of that had truly mattered, and yet it still rankled, having been lied to for so long, and about something so big. “It’s been a long time since I experienced something entirely new. And much less had someone to share it with.”
Diana turned to look at Kal, a bright smile lighting her face, but her attention was drawn again by trees and foliage soon enough. She did love the outdoors, more than the average person. “I hadn’t considered what it might be like for those with friends and family that they miss, however. I’ll have to be more mindful of that in future. I apologize if I’ve been thoughtless.”
