Clark felt a little of that same nakedness that Diana felt though in a different way he supposed. He'd arrived wearing his suit, and so was without his normal change of clothes and glasses he normally wore when he was living his more ordinary life. It left him feeling strangely exposed here now - especially as they talked openly about what they could do. "The suit helps keep the people I care about safe." He admitted, "It's easy to focus on that - to see only what it represents." He went on, "So that when I'm not wearing it, no one would ever expect that someone like me could be the same person they see flying over their city at times."
He might have laughed if Diana had said aloud that she thought he knew what he was doing, even when he was at home doing his best to keep Metropolis safe, he was only ever doing his best. The answer never felt like something he just knew, he had just learned that sometimes trying was the best answer there was. And this was a situation worth trying something. "Okay, hopefully nothing will happen, but if it does - I trust you." Which ought to have been strange, he'd just met her - but Clark was generally good at reading people, and seeing the good in them. Or not in certain cases, but Diana seemed like someone who could be depended upon.
"Okay well.... might as well see what happens." He said with a soft huff as he took off - it always felt a little strange to fly without wearing the suit, he was so used to it - but he didn't need it. He held one hand outstretched ahead of him as he took off flying straight upward, if nothing else he could get a better idea of what was around the hotel from further up and he saw the trees that surrounded the hotel extend further out from them almost like some kind of barrier, but before he could get too high he felt some sort of barrier, something solid that kept him from going further and as he tried to press against it, maybe break through it the world narrowed down slowly fading away no matter how hard he pressed until everything went dark.
When Clark opened his eyes again he was back in his bed, the same place he'd been that morning, but a quick check of the clock in his room told him almost no time at all had passed. He frowned and used a bit of super speed to make his way back out of the hotel to find Diana again. "I don't think it's something we can break through with just force if that experience was anything to go by."
