After his arrival the dark of the night the evening before, Clark had found his way up to his room eventually and a few changes of clothes and a bed. His mind was heavy with the weight of everything he'd lost, but he was putting his hope in Kara and the other Paragons, they would fix this, he just had to be patient. So it was that thought that he held in his mind, sending out a silent call to Lois and John, wherever they might be, that he would be coming for them soon, before he was drifting off. Clark wasn't sure how long he'd slept before he heard the quiet click of power coming back on, but his eyes snapped open as the hotel came back to life again, there were alarms and the hum of lights, along with a few others who had woken with the change and were talking excitedly about having power back. He supposed if he'd been here for a while without power this would be exciting for him too, as it was though he didn't find it to be the sort of thing that was all that worth cheering over. But he took it as a sign that it was time to get up and start his day. He traded in the suit, hanging it in the closet, for the softer clothing that he'd been given upon his arrival, jeans and what was a comfortable sweater and some shoes. "Okay Clark, let's see what today has in store." He said giving himself a quiet pep talk in the mirror after he'd brushed his teeth and steeled himself for whatever it was he'd find out there in the light of day and with the addition of power to the mix. He tucked the phone he'd been given and his key into his pockets and set out. He was just finishing locking up when his neighbor opened their door too, looking like she was ready to do just about the same as he had. "Oh - hi." He fell back on that Kansas accent and the farmboy smile as he greeted her, "I guess we're neighbors. I'm Kal." He introduced himself, after last night he'd decided that Clark would remain his secret identity here and that for however long he was stuck here Superman would be who he was - just so that his alter eager back home wouldn't be compromised. "Have you been here long?" His conversation last night had made him think not everyone knew about the anti-matter that was consuming the multiverse, he wasn't sure if that was because he and the others had been working to stop it or something else, maybe because he was Kryptonian? Whatever the case was he wasn't going to push that. |
