Diane was no doubt working to make her long story something that was a little more easily digestible for him as she told him about Zeus and the other gods and their relationship with Mankind. He nodded when she finished that things didn't last, "Yeah, that's been my experience, peace for a while but it never lasts." Someone always came around to try and spoil things, he didn't know if there were Gods involved, well apart from Thor who was something else entirely, but people on their own seemed to do a damn fine job of spoiling peace whenever they could.
Peter's life experience was nothing like Diana's in so many ways, gods and Amazons and the fate of mankind were all a little over his head. but he understood what it was to want more for the world, to want to help people where you could. "I guess at the end of the day trying even a little bit has to be enough, I don't know that any of us can ever fix things permanently, but even peace for a day has to be worth it, right?" He shrugged, it was something he was trying to remember, that sometimes you couldn't save everyone, sometimes saving one had to be enough.
He laughed when she asked why he might not be the person she'd get her great wisdom from. "I mean maybe I'll surprise us both and impart something really awesome," He'd managed to do alright with Miles after all, but this felt like something else. And Diana was a god, surely that meant she'd get someone better than him if she had to learn something. "Maybe what you really needed to learn were these totally awesome foosball skills I've been showing off."
