There were no consequences to a friendly match, and so for Diana, it was simply the process of competing at all, getting to know someone, the conversation had therein. And while Diana made it a point to break her solitude from time to time and go out in the world of Men and help them when she could, it wasn’t very often that she simply sat and talked with a human, of any age. She did not go sit in bars for a drink, her meals were generally had at home, and she wasn’t the type to go out clubbing. She did enjoy some movies, and most parks and nature reserves, but those weren’t exactly places to meet people or make friends.
“It is probably a good thing. On Themyscira, we are all trained for battle,” she explained, and as she began to explain further, her little men on the battlefield picked up the pace with their spinning; she wasn’t paying as much attention to slow her movements down or be as careful. “We were meant to guide Mankind and help keep them safe, and so we all had to be ready, if we were needed.” Diana nodded, and blinked, refocusing on the game at hand, and reminding herself to be delicate. “I do not think that would work for all the humans, though. You are quite different.”
Diana looked positively confused as he brought up Thor, and cocked her head to the side. She had been just about to ask whether he was here or not when Peter explained that he wasn’t, and she sighed. Diana had never met any other Gods or Goddesses besides Ares, but she believed they existed. She had done quite a lot of research into the religions of the world once she’d left Themyscira, and even beforehand, though of course, it was couched differently on Themyscira.
In any case, she looked positively overjoyed, until she realized that she’d likely never meet him anyway. “Perhaps this place truly is meant to bring more of us together,” she said thoughtfully, and then she went back to listening as Peter spoke of the video games he enjoyed. Diana was fairly sure she had seen someone play Pac-Man once, but he didn’t say that one aloud, and so she didn’t bring it up. She didn’t know enough to really continue a conversation on the subject, unfortunately.
