Diana accepted the idea of this place being haunted more easily than Peter would have guessed, but he supposed once you'd been pulled into some sort of alternate reality bubble universe anything could be possible. It was good to meet someone with an open mind like that.
Peter tilted his head a little trying to place the island of Themyscira, it wasn't a place he'd ever heard of, and he wondered if that had more to do with the alternate realities or because it had been a long time since he'd taken world geography. Whatever the case he was lost - and remained lost when she added that her home was the island of the Amazons. "I don't think I've ever heard of that, is that in South America?" Because that was the only Amazon he knew of - but at least she loved Manhattan - they could get along fine that way. "I won't hold your love of Manhattan against you, it's got it's perks." he grinned - he knew some good people from Manhattan - hell he'd moved to Manhattan, but Queens would always hold the key to his heart even now so many years since he'd lived at home.
Diana's question as to whether or not they were dead wasn't totally unreasonable. He was certain plenty of people had wondered that when they'd showed up here, or when someone left. "No, no I don't think we're dead." He assured her shaking his head, "I mean I think the portal I jumped through took a wrong turn on the way home, but no I don't think any of us are dead - well not fully dead." He'd heard that a few of the people here had died in their home worlds only to show up here, but Peter was nearly positive he hadn't died. Though if he had he wasn't sure he wanted to know.
"It seems unlikely you'd just die in your sleep you can't be what.... older than-" Peter realized of course as soon as he'd started what a minefield he was walking into with that one and inwardly winced before he continued, "What? Maybe 30?" He hoped was a safe guess. "It's unlikely that healthy people just die in their sleep unless it's some sort of brain thing, you don't have a brain thing do you?"
