And there went Steve. Doing the guilty walk. The circle of shame. Bucky was more of a one-spot sulker. He liked to brood in place. But Steve liked to be on the move when he was
Bucky watched him go back and forth. He loved this man. So much. But he wished that he wouldn't take the weight of the world on his shoulders so quickly. Of course, that was one of the things he loved most about Steve; that heart of gold. Too many times, though, he'd seen how much pain that gold could do. One of these days, it was going to break Steve if he didn't start letting go.
"Steve. My sunshine. It all worked out. Mostly. Yeah, we could have used you but Sam handled it just as good as you would have. Okay, there might been a few mistakes-" he waved his hand already knowing that Steve was going to give him a look. "We got through it." The part about Zemo had left a sour taste in the blonde's mouth, that had been obvious. He was imprisoned again, wasn't he? Also still a baron and very rich. So not quite living out the punishment he probably deserved. Maybe Bucky was going soft. He felt bad for the guy. If he'd lost Steve the way Zemo had lost his family? His kid? Bucky didn't think he would have reacted much differently. Just the idea of it happening made him feel hot.
Bucky sighed and stood up. He didn't move to stop Steve as he continued to pace. Sometimes, these things just had to be let out and this was Steve's way of processing. But he stayed close, just within arm's reach if Steve looked like he was spiraling too much. "Maybe that was a different version of you." Bucky wriggled his fingers in the air, mimicking what he'd seen Strange do a few times. "There's different universes, or realities, right? I just got lucky enough to find this version of you here."
