Tony couldn't help but wonder why that move, of all the ones Steve could have made, would have seemed like the best. He supposed it was easy to make selfish, possibly harmful decisions in times of grief. They'd all been there, right?
Tony didn't even know if he was upset so much as just ... well. Still surprised. It felt like the opposite of what he'd expect Steve to ever do.
"Well," he said after a beat, "I'm not around to see it happen in real time so I can't be that upset, can I?" He wasn't going to go anywhere. It was rare Tony was ever upset enough to leave a room on someone, even Steve.
