When he started to speak and stopped again, Karen had a pretty good feeling she knew what he was going to try and say - the same thing that people always say to try and make each other feel better. Instead, she just nodded a little, understanding his intent even if he didn't actually say the words because in some ways so much of that wasn't okay at all, and never would be.
When he apologized, she stared at him for a long minute, then just leaned over from her chair to hug him again, as tightly as she had before. What honestly mattered was that he was here alive and in one piece, and so was she and so was Foggy, and maybe since they were so far removed from people like Wilson Fisk, they would all be safe for a while and be able to manage some semblance of a life outside of that shadow. The whole Elektra thing could wait, in her opinion.
After clearing her throat a little, she drew back slightly and just gave him a faint, sad smile. "So that's...a lot, I know. But whatever you need, Matt, just name it, okay?"
