Matt didn't like hearing that, Karen involved with Frank again and he wasn't there? It had been hard enough keeping her safe when he had been involved he didn't want to think what she'd been doing with Frank without him there. Matt had to work hard to hold his tongue, Karen had asked that he just listen as she told him what he'd missed out on or what she'd lived without him, he still didn't quite understand how this worked. But it was as obvious now as it had been in the past that she was holding something back from him even as she told him so much.
"Christ, Karen," He swore and winced internally at it, but didn't stop as she told him how he'd ended up back at the church with Father Lanthom. "Do you even know how to go five minutes without putting your life in danger?" He asked her, not with any heat or even any true accusation - but he didn't understand how someone like Karen - who had seemed so innocent, so good hearted found herself mixed up in all of this. Not just him and Daredevil, but then Frank Castle and the Punisher and a situation that Matt didn't need to hear every detail to know had put her life at risk far more than he'd have liked.
He was far less worried about himself than he was about her, even after he'd checked her out already and knew in that moment at least she was fine. It didn't stop that fear that one day he wouldn't be there to protect her - and he supposed he hadn't. Frank had to step in for that. "I never thought I'd end up back there again."
