"You're not the only one, trust me," Karen replied with a short laugh. The only thing that kept her from thinking she'd lost it was the fact that Foggy and Matt were both here, and one of the two of them was right in front of her even now.
As she fell quiet, Karen had to lift both hands to her face to wipe her eyes, then nodded. "There's more - a lot more. Some of it...you're not involved in. There were things with Frank Castle." Honestly, a lot of that Karen wasn't sure she even wanted to discuss. But Matt knew some of Frank's past and needed to know more about it; she owed that much to both men, so she went on to tell him, glossing over her own part, like her baiting Senator Ori or attempting to find out more about Russo, so that it wouldn't be obvious how close she came to dying when Lewis Wilson took her hostage while wearing a bomb.
"Frank did end up managing to stop Russo, though. Agent Madani made sure he was prosecuted, Frank was allowed to go free, and then eventually he left town for a while. Which brings me back to you...I'm not sure exactly when, but at some point you made it out of Midline Circle, through the drain pipes. You got someone to contact Father Lantom, and he took you to the church to nurse you back to health," she said quietly, knowing that it would hurt even more to tell him what happened to that kind man.
