It had been overwhelming to find all three of them in one go - Elektra had been unbelievable if he was being honest. He'd held her as she died, they'd had her funeral just days earlier and then there she was, and she didn't want him asking about it. And Matt - he could only do what she asked, even though everything in him was aching to know the story of how she was here, of what had happened to her. Just like so much of him wanted to know about Karen and Foggy, how they'd gotten here, why the only real tension in the room felt like it was radiating off him rather than Karen. He had so many questions and after the last several days he wasn't sure he was ready for any actual answers.
"I didn't think you were-" He wasn't sure how to say what he meant, "You said you needed time, needed space." After all it had been Karen who told him that it wasn't Daredevil who had been the problem for her. It was Matt, just like it was for Foggy. He wasn't enough, couldn't be enough for them, couldn't be Matt and Daredevil both and though he'd tried in the end he'd let down the people who were most important to him and lost Elektra.
Had any of it truly been worth it? At this point Matt wasn't sure. "Is it this place? Has being here changed what you think of me that much?" Because a few days in a place like this and Matt wasn't sure his whole world's perspective had changed all that much.
