Matt didn't have to be able to hear a heartbeat to know that the voice that called back to him was anything but good. He could have kept going, and taken the man at his word and left him be. But then he wouldn't have been who he was if he did that either, Matt moved a little nearer, finding a chair and feeling along the back of it before he sat down there with him despite the assurances that everything was good.
"I hope you don't mind if I stick around for a minute." He said, trying not to make it seem he was fishing for anything, or even trying to help out beyond simply being there. "My room got to be a little too quiet and I needed to get out of there for a little bit." He explained, hoping that was a good enough reason to take up residence in a room where a man was obviously hiding from something. He had something in his hand, something small that he seemed to be clutching like some sort of talisman.
"I'm Matt, by the way." He introduced himself hoping maybe to draw the man out a little bit more, maybe get him off the floor, or talking at least - more than a few words. Maybe help calm the racing of his heart to something a little less intense. He could handle this, at least he hoped so. He was trying to give up Daredevil, but that didn't change what he could do, or how he could still help people, even if he wasn't wearing the suit. "I haven't been here very long, I'm still figuring things out. It's not really helped by you know this whole thing-" He waved a vague hand at his own face hoping at least that his new friend understood what he meant.
